The Best Way To Travel Life's Pathway

Jeremiah 10:23 - “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 - “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
In 1956 Greyhound Bus line began a new TV ad that still runs in part even today. In the beginning, it was simple. “Go Greyhound and leave the driving to us.” The implication was that by going with Greyhound you could avoid all the irritations and wrong turns of driving in your car. It proved to be a great promotion for the bus line and very profitable for them.
God reminds us that it is not in man to direct his steps and we who have lived long enough can vouch for that simple truth. We need more than Greyhound and the wisdom of man in our walk through life.
NOTE THE CERTAINTY OF GOD’S PROMISE TO US.
1. IT IS A PERSONAL AND SURE PROMISE
There are so many uncertainties in life, but we have here one of life’s great “shalls”. Let’s examine the promise. Notice how personal it is; “He…thy…” Not some kind of spiritual GPS, but God saying, “I will guide You.” Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” We sure need His guidance.
2. IT IS GUIDANCE FOR EVERY DETAIL OF ALL OF LIFE
He will see us to the journey's end. Did you notice He said, “Thy paths”? In other words, in all the ways that we must go. No detail is too small for God to care for. We may need guidance in our home, our work or business, our children, our friends and it is ALL important to God. The smallest detail of our life is important to God. See Him for your answers.
3. IT IS GUIDANCE THAT NEVER DIRECTS US TO A WRONG TURN
It is an absolute divine, unerring guidance. We can trust Him to guide us in every detail of life and His guidance will keep us safe and sound.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?
Remember that God does not force us to follow His guidance. As with all of the promises of God, there are conditions.
1. WE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE HIM
Don’t lean on your understanding, but trust in the Lord.
2. IN ALL OUR WAYS
In the home, school, relationships, work, and in our play.
3. IN ALL OUR WAYS
Note the word, ALL. All thy heart and all thy ways. If we acknowledge Him and seek grace to do this, we shall be guided by the Lord Himself.

In shady, green pastures so rich and so sweet
God leads His dear children along
Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet
God leads His dear children along
Some through the water, some through the flood
Some through the fire, but all through the blood
And some through great sorrow, but God gives the song
In the night season and all the day long
